Morning hike after spring gobblers !!

This morning me and Brittany got up early and hit the hills wanting to hear the sound of the Spring, GOBBLE GOBBLE!!!! With Lacey due any day now and Brittany's doctor thinking of inducing her on Friday we thought a hike could help with the process  of labor so off we went. We located three birds this morning by listening for gobbles. Two of the birds we got to watch and capture on video, with the first one coming into shooting range. First bird almost ran us over, a couple soft hen clucks and the next thing we knew we had him at 20 yards running. He saw us scrambling around to hide with the camera, but with tags and a gun we still could of got a shot off. I had issues today with my mic on the camera also so with the footage of the birds I forgot or did something to cause horrible audio so it is just silent. The second bird we got gobbling and answering us so we kept closing the distance trying to get a look. He never acted like he was going to just come in to us so we went after him. Thirty minutes later I peaked over and could see him and his hens feeding around with him strutting. He saw me but gave us some time to video him and admire exactly why we love Spring time in the woods. In a couple weeks we will be off on our turkey hunt up north and after this morning I cant wait! The third bird never showed himself but still talked with us for a little while. The weather was awesome and was the perfect start to the weekend!!
