This passed October my father and I were lucky enough to draw our first choice mule deer tags in southern Arizona. We started down low hunting for 5 days with no luck, we saw a lot of bucks but had no success finding ones we wanted to take. We packed camp up and moved to some higher elevations and some more remote country and were able to harvest these bucks in 3 days. I shot my buck on the first day we hunted in the area, I was holding out for something a little bigger but after a 2 hour stalk and sitting on this buck for 4 hours through bad weather I decided he would do, I was not about to leave with out him. I stalked to 300 yards and fired one shot that did the trick. The next day was wasted with trips into town to take care of the meat and get cleaned up and on day 3 in the new spot we were on our vantage point looking over 15 different bucks. I walked my dad into 200 yards of the biggest and after a long time of waiting on him to get up, the buck got up and walked off with no shot. My dad quickly made another stalk and shot his buck at 100 yards. It was a great time, we saw a lot of deer and spent some good times in some awesome country. This was our first mule deer hunt in 5 years and we couldn't of asked for a better time. We didn't shoot the biggest but the memories and the experiences were what made up for it all! Enjoy
